i'm sorry.

This is a quick post to apologise for a week of no blogging. The past couple of weeks have been manic, especially this last week. Working late evenings and on weekends has definitely taken it's toll on me. I would love to make my blog my first priority but obviously my job will always come first/take precedence. #workingclassproblems. I plan to get back into the groove from next week - I really do miss blogging! Enjoy the rest of the week and keep it real :)

P.S. That first photo is me pulling a "I-didn't-get-to-blog-this-week" face.

backstage at rodarte - nyfw fall '12

Finally, someone else who shares my love for aboriginal art! The sisters at Rodarte drew inspiration from the Australian outback, which included native art and cave paintings, whilst juxtaposing the look with the elegance of a Victorian silhouette. I just love the colour palette... can you see Ayers Rock coming through? Too cool. Images found here.

Playlist No. 1

So I've decided to share my gym playlist with y'all. If you follow me on Twitter you would know that I tweet about music on a regular basis! Music is what gets me dressed in the mornings, it's what gets me through traffic, through challenging work briefs... through errrr-thang! I always have a song in my head and I'm not afraid to sing it out loud. Anyway - I recently updated my gym playlist, and I thought that it might be useful to anyone who struggles to find the right "beats" for exercising. I'm not guaranteeing they will work for you, but this playlist definitely gets me going.

  1. No Beef - Afrojack ft Steve Aoki
  2. Earthquake - Labrinth ft Tinie Tempah (I can't get enough of this song)
  3. The Motto - Drake
  4. Sunshine - David Guetta & Avicii
  5. Who Gon Stop Me - Jay-Z & Kanye West
  6. Boom - Snoop Dogg & T-Pain
  7. Titanium - Sia ft David Guetta
  8. Calling - Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso
  9. Eyes - Kaskade
  10. Close To Me - Benny Benassi
  11. Strip - Chris Brown
  12. Dance (A$$) - Big Sean ft Nicki Minaj
  13. Rattle - Bingo Players
  14. Who's That Chick - Rihanna
  15. Right Above It - Lil Wayne ft Drake
  16. On To The Next One - Jay-Z ft Swizz Beatz
  17. Headlines - Drake
I would love to hear if you have some suggestions too!

how to make your fingers sparkle.

My friend Ange and I are obsessed with all things glitter right now. She came up with such a brilliant idea: Dipping your fingers in loose glitter after applying a fresh coat of nail polish. The chunkier the glitter, the better.

1. Apply one coat of nail polish (I used "Blueberry" from the Woolworths colour range) onto your index finger.
2. Dip finger into a bowl of loose glitter.
3. Repeat this method, one finger at a time - to avoid nail polish from drying out too quickly.
4. Apply a thin coat of clear varnish to fingers (I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear)

Not only will your glittery digits catch the attention of many :) you will also find that this kind of method can handle a lot of wear and tear. It's been 3 days and I haven't had to worry about chipped nails yet!

vanity fair march 2012

Well well well... Look who's rocking the March issue of Vanity Fair? A fierce-looking Rooney Mara, along with other young hot Hollywoods. I think the sugary sorbet colours contrasted with the dark makeup is pure perfection... a lovely mix of 20's and 30's jazzy fizzle!

sweet lovin'

I thought these were just too cute - heart-shaped milk cubes to put in a glass of milk, or better yet, a glass of ice cold CHOCOLATE NESQUIK. I found this recipe over at A Subtle Revelry.
