ladylike luxe.

I recently came across some of the 3rd year student work that was showcased at the Elizabeth Galloway Graduate fashion event. I couldn't believe the calibre of craftsmanship - if this is the kind of young talent we have, then South Africa... we have plenty to look forward to!

The collection that left me the most mesmerized was that of student Kearin Burrows. Her pieces capture the romance of a fairytale through her use of sheer fabrics, pastel hues, lace, and sequin accents. I just love the scalloped edges on some of her garments - they add a perfect playfulness to her ladylike collection. I can't but think that this young lady is gonna go places.

diy: tip that collar.

Is it even necessary to write instructions for this? This is possibly the quickest post I have ever put together! Tonight I was going through my wardrobe and I took one glance at this well-used button up and decided it needed a little bit of "help". With tipping popping up errwhere, (on collars, shoes, etc) I thought this would be a fun way to spruce up an old item of mine. Some cheap beads, rhinestones, pearls, thread... and some nimble fingers. That is all.
